ALC Land Grades here
https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/agricultural-land-assess-proposals-for-development/guide-to-assessing-development-proposals-on-agricultural-land#about-alc-grades
4.4 Subgrade 3a – good quality agricultural land (NOT to be used for solar!!) Land capable of consistently producing moderate to high yields of a narrow range of arable crops, especially cereals, or moderate yields of crops including: *cereals *grass * oilseed rape *potatoes *sugar beet
4.5 Subgrade 3b – moderate quality agricultural land. Land capable of producing moderate yields of a narrow range of crops, principally: cereals and grass (BUT NOT OILSEED RAPE)
When land is ALC graded they dig very deep pits. Locally the crop is ignored. So we have acres upon acres of thriving oilseed rape -and -the UK government classes land that supports oilseed rape as 3a or above - yet the soil samples say the land is 3b or 4! No one seems to have told the oilseed it can't grow here! And it does grow very well -6ft high in 2023!

Safety - Worldwide Log of BESS fires
https://storagewiki.epri.com/index.php/BESS_Failure_Event_Database
There were 3 BIG Lithium (BESS) battery fires- in 3 months in NY state in early 2023. That undermines the alledged safety stats for BESS -Battery Energy Storage Systems. Are our fire services ready for massive lithium battery fires that can burn for 5 days? And what about the mopping up of toxic gases and toxic run off afterwards? Are we storing up problems for our children? What dangers are posed to water supplies from fire control toxic water? VAST quantities of water are required to control a BESS fire.
Landscapes and Character
Regrettably no one is entitled to a view, unless you 'own it'. However a community with a vote and a voice may have some rights to protect the essential natural public amenity and historic character of an area.

Should we be concerned? Are we ready? Are the sites and the Fire Services Ready?
